Back to normallacy... 08/28/2009
It is hard to believe summer is almost over! The one thing I do enjoy about the fall is getting back into a routine that is manageable. This past summer has been a collage of events, travels, vacations, fun, and surprises! Don't get me wrong I love summer, especially during our Canadian winters! But there are things I also love about getting back into a schedule that I can manage. I believe the new website will be ready shortly and I am just waiting on the final touch ups. Enjoy your day, Connected! Friends 04/14/2009
One of the greatest gifts we have ever been given is friends. They are there when we need someone to listen to us, they are there when we need someone to talk to. Friends have a way of making the difficult times seem easier and worth going through. I have been priviledged in my life of having many good friends, I have also been blessed by having the occasional "best friends". The older I get I would like to think the wiser I get, and one of these wisdom moments includes the value of friends. I haven't always been the best a friend could be, but I am learning that these close relationships are a rare and treasured gift. I am a huge hockey fan, so to all my friends whom are Hab fans- Go Habs! To all whom are not- Go Habs! Have an MVP Heroes... 03/24/2009
The fascination with abilities and the supernatural has drawn my attention since I was a kid. I remember pretending to jump up up and away and fly, just like superman. Then I came crashing down to the hard earth of reality. I couldn't fly, however one of the things that I have taken from my fascination with ultra abilities is that I will never have them! I will never be that type of hero who saves the day. Yet that does not phase me from aiming to be the best I can be with the abilities and skills that I have and that I am learning. What's Old? 03/05/2009
Living is one of the greatest gifts we have ever been given, but yet how many of us are living presently everyday? More often than not, we are living the same stuff over and over, bringing old patterns and beliefs from our experience into the present, we never really change- only if something checks that current belief into something that fits into our own lenses of perception. Lately I have been wondering what old beliefs and patterns kick into gear for me on a daily basis that don't allow me to enjoy the gift of life in the present. What I have discovered is that there are more than I thought! So out with the old and off to discover the new! Have a changed day! Co Friends and Family 02/17/2009
Lately I have been thinking about who has influenced me and who I have influenced. The more I connect with people the more I disconnect from other people. I wonder how large my circle of connection grows until it becomes unmanageable. I think that is why so many people, including myself have flocked to facebook- we can connect with people on all planes of our life (past and present) that make connecting easier- in a way. Being connected is something that is with family whether close or not, family is family. Friends on the other hand require the relational bonds of connecting to maintain some level of the circle. I enjoy facebook because it allows the opportunity to be connected even though space and time may separate. Have a great week Off the Cuff 02/04/2009
I am a hockey fan, in particular a Montreal Canadiens fan. I watched a bit of the game between the Bruins and Habs on Sunday and to my surprise- Kovalev (the week before was named the All Star game MVP) was pretty well benched in the third period. As I thought about it, I began to relate this story line to life- just because you're an MVP one day, doesn't mean you are automatically going to be an MVP the next day- it takes work and purpose. Question? 01/16/2009
As a counsellor/coach, one of the greatest rewards I have is partnering with people in their change process. This is one of the motivators that keeps me going to be my best for people during every session. What's New? 01/06/2009
So we begin a New Year with much hope and anticipation about what the New Year will bring. Chances are that we will start out with well meaning goals and intentions, but come March 23, 2009, how many of us have given up on the goals we have made? A great way of accomplishing those goals you have- write them down and keep them in front of you on a daily basis. The more you have your goal in front of you, the better chance you have of thinking of ways to accomplish this goal. Christmas Gifts 12/15/2008
This is the time of year when giving is at the top of most people's minds- what do I give to a family member, co-worker, friend? What we give is often a reflection of ourselves and the other person. Much time, money, and thought goes into the whole process. Giving is something that I am learning is a lifestyle, not an event. Throughout this Christmas season remember that giving is not about how much money you spend, and how the gift reflects on you, but rather in the giving to someone out of the benefit of a selfless act- it is not the quantity of gifts but the value (not monetary) and the meaning behind them. Not the Norm... 12/02/2008
So I am not one to post his thoughts on the political structure of the day, but what is going on right now in Canada- my country, I could not be more embarrassed or violated. What the "3 stooges" are proposing to do is nothing more than a power play- they are abusing not only the system for their own benefits, but the country that just denied each and every one of them the right to be prime minister- they are now violating my right to vote- which the whole structure is founded on. This is what disgusts me- these political bullies who are vying for themselves, not for the people who voted- this is the most selfish act I have witnessed in the history of the countries leadership, sure maybe I have missed some things in our history, but these actions are purely selfish and abusive in nature! |
